Directions to New Perceptions, Inc.

Welcome

For over 50 years, New Perceptions, Inc. (NPI) has served the special needs individuals of Boone, Campbell, Kenton, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Owen and Pendleton Counties in Northern Kentucky. NPI has been a leader in these areas in the advancement of individuals with developmental disabilities and other barriers.

Our infant and toddler clients benefit from a variety of therapies, which include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. NPI also offers Developmental Intervention, which is provided by staff educators who specialize in early childhood education. These children and their families are instilled with the foundation they will need to be successful within the northern Kentucky school systems.

Our adult clients receive the support and skills necessary for employment within the community or in our site-based work program. For example, Project Employ is a collaborative effort with St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Kenton County School to Work Transition Program to provide evaluation, training, and ultimately employment in a medical setting. NPI also offers a Community-Based Supportive Employment Program, which offers in-depth one-on-one job placement and support in organizations throughout our community. A third program offered through Adult Services is our Site-Based Employment Program, which is located in Edgewood, KY. This program offers clients everyday assembly and packaging jobs, as well as other onsite services such as the Life Skills Program, which offers our clients the opportunity to transition away from full-time work so that they are able to set and achieve personal, recreational, and social goals.

New Perceptions believes in the abilities of our clients and believe we have achieved success only when our clients achieve success! NPI provides a lifetime of service to hundreds of Northern Kentucky families, supplying them with the confidence and tools to be able to set and reach their goals.

The Bank of KY assisted New Perceptions, Inc. with the purchase of a Chevy Uplander LS van. The van carries clients on the inside, and New Perceptions, Inc. and The Bank of Kentucky logos on the outside!

The staff and clients simply love the van. By receiving this gift, it has made it possible for additional clients to go on field trips and develop life-skills such as learning to shop for his/her own clothing, experience a baseball game or museum for the first time. With this van going out in the community, allowing our staff to safely transport clients and give them the opportunity to contribute locally by shopping, participating in activities and venues, this contributes to the clients self-esteem and potential.
